About

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERANat Rice got his introduction to the music business traveling internationally along with his brother, Gene Rice, who was part of the famed Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes. He was not involved in the creative side of the business, only administratively. Although he sang as a kid he never envisioned himself pursuing a professional career performing. After leaving the road and returning home to Baltimore he decided to go back to his previous profession as an insurance agent and eventually running an entire agency. One night after partying all night that included alcohol and other drugs he had a conversation with God saying “Lord you gave me all these talents, please use me better than I’m using myself”. Now he was not referring to anything in the music business because that was definitely not part of his thought process. The very next day in the office sitting at his desk God spoke to him in his spirit to give all this up and start a Drug & Alcohol Ministry, and that”s where it all begin. He formed a group of young people that he named the P.S. MAD Kids (Parents & Students Moving Against Drugs) and began writing positive & educational songs for the kids. Nat and the Kids traveled around the state of Maryland and the DC area performing in the schools and churches educating young people about drugs. He also began to write gospel songs and tried to get other people to sing them. That failed, so he began singing them himself. So at the writing of this brief bio he has written over three hundred gospel songs with twenty two original gospel CDs currently being streamed and downloaded around the world. he also has written several CDs of positive and educational music for young people. All of the P.S. MAD Kids are grown now with their kids but he still performs in the school systems presenting his Drug-Free, Self-Esteem & Anti-Bullying musical concerts in addition to his gospel concerts. Out of all the songs he has written one of his favorites “She Was My Angel” dedicated to his wife the Reverend Elaine Rice who was his pastor at “Solomon Temple Christian Church” a ministry that they were building together until her passing on September 26, 2016. She was truly my angel.
